Why do fewer male actors win Oscars compared to actresses?

There are a few reasons why fewer male actors win Oscars compared to actresses. One reason is that there are generally fewer leading roles for men in films, and thus fewer opportunities for men to win awards. Additionally, the roles that are considered "Oscar bait" tend to be those that portray dramatic, intense, or emotional characters, which are often played by women. Additionally, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which votes for the Oscars, has historically been dominated by men and some argue that this may have led to a bias in the types of performances and films that are recognized with awards. Furthermore, the Hollywood industry has a history of marginalizing and undervaluing the performances of actors of color, and particularly actors of color who are men. This can also be a reason for fewer male actors winning Oscars.
